Intel planning to halt its motherboard production line for Desktops
Intel gives up
manufacturing motherboards for desktop PC’s and after the next
generation of its chip technology, desktop PC’s will no more hold
motherboards within themselves.
It’s the fourth generation Core processors having the moniker “Haswell” shall be perked as the last line of chips for which Intel will manufacture motherboards.
After this last line Intel will wind up his business over the next three years and will not manufacture motherboards for desktop PC’s. Motherboard is the basic component of every PC it holds CPU, RAM and connectivity elements.
It is believed that various other manufacturers including ASUS and GIGABYTE will continue their business of producing motherboards.

“We
disclosed internally today that Intel’s Desktop Motherboard Business
will begin slowly ramping down over the course of the next three years,”
said the company in a note.
The market of desktop PC’s was actually declining due to the invention of high processor smart phones that enable users to wind up their tasks on cell phone. The consumer market is drastically shifting to smartphones and tablets.

This
weak demand and similar other reasons are responsible for halting the
production line of Intel’s motherboard. The margins are thin on the
products, and it’s difficult to make money on them.
This
move can be deemed as one of the evolutionary phase from Intel and it
may be expected that future desktops from Intel will no more contain
bulky motherboards or something extraordinary will come in existence
that will allow users the freedom from buying motherboards.
